Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes sent an important message to fans after the Red Devils’ 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Old Trafford on Sunday.
United walked away with a Premier League point from their showdown with Spurs, despite Erik ten Hag’s men leading the match two different times at home.
Rasmus Hojlund, who was criticised by Roy Keane ahead of the match, fired the Red Devils into the lead inside five minutes with a sensational strike from inside the box.
Tottenham striker Richarlison cancelled out Hojlund’s opener in the 19th minute, only for the United striker to set up Marcus Rashford for the Red Devils’ second.
Despite leading Spurs 2-1 going into half-time, Tottenham immediately hit back after the break and Rodrigo Bentancur scored the all-important equaliser against United.
Ten Hag’s men are currently seventh in the Premier League table and are eight points adrift of fourth-place Arsenal, though the Gunners have a match in hand.

Fernandes’ message to United fans
United manager Ten Hag will be disappointed that the Red Devils didn’t secure all three points, with his side pushing for a top-four league finish this season.
Fernandes took to social media and sent out a heartfelt message to United fans, with the Portugal midfielder thanking them for their support.
Following the 2-2 draw against Spurs, Fernandes wrote on Instagram: “Thank you for the support. We’ll keep pushing forward together.”
Rashford was spotted in the comments of Fernandes’ Instagram post and the United forward responded to his Red Devils teammate with a heart emoji.
Ten Hag frustrated with United’s showing from corners
Ten Hag admitted that he was frustrated with the scoreline and how United poorly defended from corners against Tottenham at Old Trafford.
Richarlison’s equaliser came from a corner and Cristian Romero hit the bar from a corner, with another occasion including Diogo Dalot making a clearance from the line.
Speaking after the match, Ten Hag revealed that he was “quite disappointed” and urged his United players to be “more physical” from corners.
“You have to grow up and be more physical, head the ball away,” he told Sky Sports (via The Guardian).
“That shouldn’t happen. And the second [Spurs goal from a break] was a typical one.
“We know the quick releases and then we allow them a diagonal pass and with one diagonal pass they break our whole team and that can’t happen.
“I am quite disappointed. When you go ahead twice and then concede two soft goals it is a bit frustrating, but you have to take it as it is.”
