Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has shown his generous side by responding to a plea from a supporter.

The Portugal international responded to a fan on Twitter, who had spent 300 consecutive days asking for a signed shirt.

Twitter user @BlessedUtd had described Fernandes as his ‘favourite player’ and wanted to see if he could get noticed by Manchester United’s number 8.

The superstar responded today, after helping Manchester United to a 2-0 win over Leeds at the weekend.

Fernandes pledges signed shirt

Bruno Fernandes wrote to say he saw the daily messages 20 days earlier, and wanted to see if the fan would stay persistent to reach 300.

He wrote: “I saw you tweet around 280 days and said to myself that if he reach 300 days then I will send him a shirt!

“Thanks for the support. Email in my bio and I send you a shirt.”

Fernandes has spent much of the season as Manchester United’s captain, with Harry Maguire frequently benched or injured early in the campaign.

He has been an excellent ambassador for the club on and off the pitch, and this latest message demonstrates the positivity around Manchester United at present.

With a two-legged tie against Barcelona and a Carabao Cup final yet to come this month, let’s hope Bruno Fernandes and co can keep the good feelings alive.
