Bruno Fernandes names the ‘best moment’ he’s had at Man Utd so far

Bruno Fernandes reflects on his favourite moment as a Manchester United player in a conversation with Wayne Rooney.

There’s no bigger name in the Manchester United dressing room than Bruno Fernandes right now.

Seen as a contender to win the Premier League Player of the Year award, Fernandes would be the first United player since 2010 to win the award if he sees off competition from Man City’s Bernardo Silva.

Fernandes has had many high points and low points as a United player, but he’s consistently been the team’s talisman throughout that time.

Bruno Fernandes’ favourite Man Utd moment

Fernandes has been at Old Trafford since January 2020.

That means he has been at United for over six years and three months.

Fernandes has won two trophies in that time, including the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

However, Fernandes’ favourite moment in a United shirt came in the FA Cup final when he played the pass to assist Kobbie Mainoo against Man City.

“Probably one of the ones that I like the most is the assist to Kobbie in the FA Cup final, because I think from the moment I start running from the halfway line to the edge of the box,” Fernandes said on The Wayne Rooney Show.

“think it was probably the play that I’ve scanned the most the game, because obviously you know when you get into that moment and playing against City, you know that normally they will have the ball for a long period, and you’re going to have to suffer and sacrifice.

“And then there’s going to be moments where you need to be aware, clever, knowing where all the players are. And then as soon as soon I know that Garna is coming in and that ball could come to me, my first thought was like, if this comes, probably I’m going to shoot, because the position was perfect.

“But as soon the ball starts traveling, I see John Stones stepping out. And I knew Kyle was just behind Kobbie. So if I make the pass in the right moment, with the right pace, timing, Kobe’s going to be in a much better position than myself to finish the play.”

Bruno Fernandes named as Wayne Rooney’s Premier League Player of the Year

Fernandes also spoke to Rooney about the Premier League Player of the Year award.

During the conversation, Rooney expressed his belief that Fernandes deserves the award this season.

Gary Neville echoed the same view on a recent podcast, whereas Roy Keane opted for Silva at City.

Speaking to Fernandes, Rooney said: “I think you’ll win it. I think you should win it.”

Fernandes went on to say it’s a “privilege” to be part of the conversation.
