Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot were both on the same wavelength after Manchester United completed a stunning 4-0 victory over Everton at Old Trafford.
Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford scored ahead of half-time to put Manchester United 2-0 up before the pair netted again in the second half.
Ruben Amorim’s men put in a convincing display in Sunday’s Premier League clash, with Sean Dyche’s Everton side simply outclassed by the Red Devils.
The 4-0 win over Everton was Ruben Amorim’s first Premier League match at Old Trafford as United manager since his arrival from Sporting CP in November.
Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout, has overseen two wins and one draw in his first three matches across all competitions at United.
United are now ninth in the Premier League table after 13 matches played and the Red Devils are only four points away from catching up to the top four.
Fernandes and Dalot afrer Man Utd win
Both Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes were in action for Manchester United’s Premier League demolition win over Everton on Sunday.
Bruno Fernandes put in a stunning performance for the Red Devils and the 30-year-old United captain picked up two assists against Everton at Old Trafford.
The Portugal midfielder played 66 minutes before he was withdrawn for Manuel Ugarte, while Diogo Dalot saw out the full 90 minutes for Ruben Amorim’s side.
Fernandes took to Instagram and sent out a heartfelt message to United fans about playing – and winning – at Old Trafford on the weekend.
“A nice Sunday at home,” he wrote on the social media platform.
Dalot, much like Fernandes, enjoyed the atmosphere at Old Trafford and thanked the United fans for their support at the Everton match.
“Top performance, thank you for all the support,” he wrote on Instagram.
Amorim praises Man Utd performance
Speaking after the Everton match, Amorim welcomed the hard work that his United players put on the pitch and the Red Devils’ ability to press Sean Dyche’s men.
“All the team has to understand the type of player in the opponent that has the ball and which situation is the best time to press,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“They are smart players and we try to help them. We have to tell them sometimes when to start the pressure, so everybody has the same mentality this is the right moment. We tried that for every game.
“You could see, after 15 minutes, Everton changed position and [Idrissa] Gueye was nearer the line of the centre-backs.
“It was difficult for us to cope with that because we’ve not had training and you cannot adapt like that.
“We are trying and the players are believing that, in the right moments, you can press and win the ball.”
