Manchester United’s players have responded to the news that Martin Dubravka‘s loan deal has been cancelled.

The Red Devils announced Newcastle have decided to bring Dubravka back to St James’ Park for the remainder of the season.

Dubravka played just two competitive games for United, both in the Carabao Cup.

Newcastle are also in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals but Dubravka won’t be eligible to play against Manchester United later in the competition should the two sides meet, as he would be cup-tied.

Dubravak wrote on Instagram that the loan spell at Manchester United had been an ‘enjoyable experience’.

His Manchester United teammates acknowledged his departure, wishing him the best in the future.

Bruno Fernandes posted a glowing message about Dubravka, while fellow goalkeepers David de Gea and Nathan Bishop both reached out to him.

Dubravka’s exit does not come as a total surprise. The goalkeeper’s performances had been underwhelming in the limited chances he had been given.

Newcastle are also enjoying a very strong season themselves, and from their perspective it makes sense to bring him back.

The Red Devils still have Tom Heaton as a capable back-up for David de Gea, along with Nathan Bishop as an extra goalkeeper if required.
