Manchester United players have reacted to Jack Butland’s exit following the end of his loan deal.

Rangers announced last night they have signed Jack Butland on a permanent deal, from July 1 when he becomes a free agent.

Butland has landed a four-year deal with Rangers, where he is expected to become their new number one.

It was a deal which was too good for him to turn down, even if Manchester United had offered him the chance to stay as a back-up.

Jack Butland exit reaction

Jack Butland’s contract at Crystal Palace expires at midnight on June 30 and then his move to Rangers will become official.

He wrote on Instagram that he is excited to get started at Ibrox.

Butland had been on loan at Manchester United, after joining in the January transfer window. He was a back-up to David de Gea and was on the bench for the FA Cup final.

While he did not play a game for the club, he spent plenty of time with his teammates behind the scenes, and labelled United as a club ‘going places‘ in his departure message.

He received messages of support, with Bruno Fernandes telling him ‘you deserve the best’.

There was also a message from coach Benni McCarthy, who said it had been a ‘pleasure’ working alongside Butland.

There was another message of support from teenager Alejandro Garnacho.

Even though he did not get the chance to make an impact on the pitch, it’s clear Butland left an impression behind the scenes.
