Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho both dropped powerful messages after Manchester United’s 0-0 Premier League draw against Manchester City on Sunday.

Manchester United welcomed Manchester City to Old Trafford on the weekend for the last Manchester derby of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

Ruben Amorim’s side and Pep Guardiola’s men had to settle for a Premier League point apiece after United and City played out an uneventful draw on Sunday.

The Red Devils had the chance to snatch all three Premier League points at Old Trafford, but Ruben Amorim’s men lacked the real quality needed in the final third.

United are 13th in the Premier League table under Red Devils boss Amorim, while City are fifth under Pep Guardiola and are one point behind fourth-place Chelsea.

Alejandro Garnacho was deployed as one of the two No 10s in Amorim’s tactical system for United alongside Red Devils skipper Bruno Fernandes for the City match.

The 20-year-old United and Argentina winger saw out the full 90 minutes and Garnacho missed his chances to break the deadlock and find the winner.

Garnacho took to Instagram after the Manchester derby and the Spain-born attacker admitted that the Red Devils must fully “focus” on their Europa League campaign.

“Tough battle in the derby,” he wrote to his 11.9m followers.

“Crazy atmosphere at OT. Full focus on Europe on Thursday.”

Bruno Fernandes singles out one ‘special’ person after Man Utd’s 0-0 draw vs Manchester City in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford

Before Manchester United’s encounter with Manchester City, Bruno Fernandes took to the pitch with seven-year-old Bobby Moore as the Red Devils’ mascot.

According to Manchester United’s official website, Bobby Moore has a rare condition known as ‘spinal muscular atrophy’ and he requires the use of a powerchair.

Moore had received an invitation to visit the Carrington training complex after he went viral earlier in the season and United captain Fernandes is his idol.

Fernandes took to Instagram and dropped a heartfelt tribute to United fan Moore after the youngster was the Red Devils’ mascot at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Posting about Moore, the Portugal and United midfielder wrote: “Leading the team out is always amazing but today [Bobby Moore] made it even more incredible!

“His smile as we heard the noise of Old Trafford was something special.”

Ruben Amorim sends a clear message to all of his Man Utd players after the Red Devils’ Manchester derby encounter with Manchester City

United manager Ruben Amorim insisted that he wants to see more improvement from all of his players and they all “have the quality” to do so on the pitch.

“Every player can improve,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“And they are here because they show something in other clubs. So, they have the quality, we have to spend more time with them.

“We are still a team, sometimes, that is more dangerous in transitions and we have to spend more time near the final third to get more opportunities.”

United are now heading to France to face Lyon at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais on Thursday evening in their first-leg quarter-final clash in the Europa League.
