Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes both dropped the same verdict on one Manchester United star’s stunning performance against Barnsley in the third-round Carabao Cup tie.

Manchester United ran riot on Tuesday evening with a 7-0 thrashing of the League One side and punched their ticket to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for United in the first half before Antony stepped up and superbly converted from the spot-kick.

Alejandro Garnacho netted in first-half injury time to put United 3-0 up before half-time, with the winger completing his brace only four minutes into the second half.

Rashford, much like Garnacho, completed his brace in the second half before Christian Eriksen found the back of the net twice in quick succession.

Erik ten Hag’s men have now made it two wins in two matches across all competitions since the end of the September international break.

United returned to winning ways under Erik ten Hag after a well-deserved 3-0 Premier League victory over Southampton at the St Mary’s on Saturday.

Garnacho and Fernandes react to Man Utd star

Bruno Fernandes came off the bench in the second half and replaced summer signing Manuel Ugarte, who made his first start for Manchester United.

Alejandro Garnacho, on the other hand, made way in the 84th minute after Erik ten Hag replaced him with Amad Diallo for the remainder of the Carabao Cup clash.

Fernandes picked up two assists in his second-half performance after setting Christian Eriksen up for his late brace in the 81st minute and 85th minute.

Eriksen produced a show-stealing performance against Barnsley after he played behind Marcus Rashford for the 7-0 demolition win at Old Trafford.

The 32-year-old Danish midfielder pulled the strings and made United tick over the course of 90 minutes, with Eriksen making a real impact on the match.

Following the match, Eriksen took to Instagram and posted the message: “High fives all around today!”

Garnacho and Fernandes wasted no time by reacting to Eriksen’s post and felt the same way about his performance in the steamrolling win over Barnsley.

Fernandes called Eriksen’s display “class” and added a clapping emoji, while Garnacho left three face with heart eyes emojis after the same message.

Ten Hag reacts to Man Utd win

Speaking after the Carabao Cup match, Ten Hag was thrilled with how United came together to secure an emphatic victory over Barnsley at Old Trafford.

“First of all, it was a difficult start but, once we found the shape, it’s not so weird because it’s the first time this team is playing together,” he told Sky Sports, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“But once we found the shape and the patterns, we scored some great goals, starting with [Marcus] Rashford which was a brilliant goal but I’d also say some other goals were really good.

“We played with a lot of speed and we were very ruthless in front of the goal.”
