Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is under increasing pressure amid surprise links with a potential move to Manchester United.
Manchester United have claimed another Premier League win this Sunday, beating Aston Villa 2-1 away from home.
Erik ten Hag has now won three Premier League games in a row and has United really in the hunt for Champions League qualification.
The pressure is easing on Ten Hag as United start to gather momentum – and he will certainly be fending off rumours about Thomas Tuchel potentially taking his job.
Thomas Tuchel loses top-of-the-table battle amid Manchester United links
Reports in January suggested that United were interested in landing Bayern Munich boss Tuchel at the end of the season.
Ineos will be weighing up Ten Hag’s future in the coming months and Tuchel was thought to be a prime target if a change was to be made.
Well, just as Ten Hag picks up victories, Tuchel finds himself in big trouble.
Tuchel’s Bayern side fell flat on Saturday evening, losing 3-0 to Bayer Leverkusen in a top-of-the-table clash in the Bundesliga.
A win for Bayern would have taken them one point above Xabi Alonso’s side but they instead find themselves five points adrift in the battle for top spot.
Tuchel was backed with major signings over the summer as Kim Min-jae and Harry Kane moved to Bavaria, but Bayern’s title hopes are now hanging by a thread.

Pressure mounting on Tuchel
There have already been concerns about the style of play under Tuchel and his results aren’t exactly impressive either right now.
Bayern are used to winning; they have won every single Bundesliga title since Borussia Dortmundd’s 2012 success.
Tuchel may now see Leverkusen swoop in and beat them this season and the manner of Saturday’s defeat will set alarm bells ringing.
As noted by Raphael Honigstein, Bayern mustered just 0.27 xG in a must-win game and Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen has hardly backed Tuchel with his post-match comments.
Tuchel may well become available in the coming months but Ten Hag is currently picking up wins and no doubt leaving Ineos to believe that there is no need to replace him with Tuchel any time soon.
