Benjamin Sesko’s “potential” and ability to “develop” have both been spotlighted after the Slovenia and Manchester United striker’s early start to life at Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old Slovenian forward has not made his first Premier League start for the Red Devils since his initial £66.3m move from German side RB Leipzig in August.
All three of Benjamin Sesko’s Premier League appearances have come from the bench for Manchester United, with the striker not scoring in any of the matches.
Ruben Amorim handed the Slovenia international his first Red Devils start in the Carabao Cup and Sesko scored a penalty for United in the defeat to Grimsby Town.

Former RB Salzburg assistant coach Rene Aufhauser reveals his personal rating for Man Utd summer signing Benjamin Sesko
Benjamin Sesko started his senior playing career at RB Salzburg before RB Leipzig later signed the Slovenia striker from the Austrian Bundesliga outfit in 2023.
The Manchester United summer signing worked under former RB Salzburg assistant coach Rene Aufhauser, who still thinks incredibly highly of the Slovenian forward.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Rene Aufhauser suggested that “at the moment” he feels that the former RB Salzburg and Leipzig striker is a nine-and-a-half out of 10.
“Benji, I think at the moment, maybe he’s a nine, nine and a half out of 10,” he said, as per Sports Illustrated.
“And he has also potential. He will develop in the next one and two years, I’m sure.”
Rene Aufhauser uses Man City striker Erling Haaland as a direct comparison to ex-RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig talent Benjamin Sesko
During his time at RB Salzburg, Rene Aufhauser also crossed paths with Erling Haaland after the Austrian outfit landed the Norwegian striker from Molde.
Erling Haaland has become one of the best strikers in the Premier League and the 25-year-old Norway international is a key part of Pep Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad.
Aufhauser believes that former United target Haaland is the perfect example of a “10 out of 10” striker and still believes that Sesko can “reach” the same high “mark.”
Speaking about Haaland and Sesko, he explained: “Erling reached his mark after his transfer from [Borussia] Dortmund to Man City and we will see.
“I am quite sure Benji will reach this mark after one or two years. But of course, Erling is the top. He has 10 out of 10 from me.”
Sesko inked a deal with United until 2030 after the Red Devils beat Newcastle in the race to sign him from Leipzig, with the deal worth £73.7m in total.
