Benjamin Sesko has revealed the specific traits he admired from former Manchester United forwards, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, and Ruud van Nistelrooy, as his ultimate inspirations.

It has been a decent debut season for Benjamin Sesko at Manchester United, making 30 appearances and scoring 11 goals.

Sesko is likely to miss the final game of the season against Brighton after sustaining an injury in United’s 3-2 win over Liverpool earlier this month.

The Slovenia international, who won’t be competing at the 2026 World Cup, will be aiming to kick on by scoring more goals for United next season.

What an incredible achievement, how many goals should they each be aiming for in 2026/27?

Benjamin Sesko inspired by Ruud van Nistelrooy’s finishing

Sesko has done an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport.

The 22-year-old striker provided insight into the legendary forwards he looked up to growing up.

Sesko was tasked with building his perfect United striker using traits from former players.

He named Ruud van Nistelrooy for his finishing, overlooking some greats like Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he picked for his right foot.

Wayne Rooney was selected for his pace, Robin van Persie for his left foot, and Dimitar Berbatov for his first touch.

The Slovenian also joked that he would pick himself for celebrations.

Michael Carrick is right not to rush Benjamin Sesko back

United are in a privileged position with one game left to play in the Premier League. Third place is secured, and the team has guaranteed a place in the Champions League.

That gives Michael Carrick a chance to play fringe players and academy prospects against Brighton on Sunday.

However, Carrick has made the right decision with Sesko since he sustained his injury by keeping him out of the team.

Sesko’s preparation for the 2026/27 campaign is already underway as he recovers. The aim should be to hit the ground running at the start of next season.
