Pundit Ben Foster has now reacted to Manchester United’s stunning performance against Brighton in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
Manchester United welcomed Brighton to Old Trafford and the Red Devils produced a strong showing against the Seagulls, despite facing a late scare in the match.
Matheus Cunha finally opened his United goalscoring account on the weekend before Casemiro doubled the Red Devils’ advantage ahead of half-time at Old Trafford.
United built on their lead over Brighton in the second half after Bryan Mbeumo netted, only for the Seagulls to attempt a late comeback in Saturday’s clash.
Danny Welbeck scored from a sensational free-kick against United before Charalampos Kostoulas grabbed a second for Brighton in injury time at Old Trafford.
However, United sealed all three Premier League points on the weekend after Bryan Mbeumo had an impact for the second time by completing his superb brace.

Ben Foster picks out Bruno Fernandes in Man Utd quartet after the 4-2 Brighton win at Old Trafford
Manchester United have now won three consecutive Premier League matches under Ruben Amorim in the 2025-26 season after a turnaround in form in recent weeks.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Ben Foster said: “Let’s go for United. First and foremost, fantastic result.
“Fantastic result. I did think for a split second when Brighton got that second goal and it was 3-2, I thought, ‘Nah, surely not.’”
Foster later carried on his praise by singling out four separate United players, including Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro.
Bruno Fernandes played the full 90 minutes of the Premier League match and former United player Foster hailed the midfielder as “phenomenal” for his display.
“But Man United were ruthless,” he added on the ‘Fozcast – The Ben Foster Podcast.’
“And that guy on the telly there, Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes was phenomenal as well, Casemiro decent, like [a] fantastic performance from Man United at the weekend; really, really happy with them.”
Ben Foster’s feelings on Brighton’s performance at Old Trafford against Man Utd in the Premier League clash
Brighton looked dazed against United after conceding three times and the Seagulls struggled to assert any major influence before their late comeback attempt.
Foster suggested that Brighton can be the “architects” of their own “downfall” and that Fabian Hurzeler’s men “take so many risks” playing out from the back.
“Brighton are a really good team and Brighton can beat anybody,” he said.
“Brighton, sometimes, the architects [of] their own downfall, right? Some of the goals they concede are so sloppy and they take so many risks at the back trying to play balls into midfield, where they’re just, and you think, ‘Come on, you ain’t got to, just bypass that, would you?’
“Just get it into the front man, you ain’t going to have that risk.”
United have climbed to sixth place in the Premier League table after the Brighton result and the Red Devils will now face Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
