BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton has dropped his telling Premier League prediction for Manchester United’s forthcoming clash against Luton Town on Sunday.
Manchester United are undefeated in their last four Premier League matches, with the Red Devils picking up three consecutive wins and one draw.
Erik ten Hag’s men have enjoyed a superb run since the start of 2024, as United have not lost since their 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest near the end of 2023.
United are through to the fifth round of the FA Cup after a 2-0 victory over Wigan in the third round and a 4-2 win over Newport County in the fourth round.
The Red Devils were held to a 2-2 draw against Tottenham at Old Trafford in January before going on to win their next three league matches.
United defeated Wolves away from home in a thrilling 4-3 win at the beginning of February before beating West Ham 3-0 at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag’s side continued to build momentum for their top-four Premier League challenge with a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park last Sunday.

Sutton on ‘big’ moment for Luton Town
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag faces an uphill battle in securing a top-four finish, despite his side’s recent run of form in the Premier League.
The Red Devils are sixth in the Premier League table and United are five points behind fifth-place Aston Villa and six points adrift from fourth-place Tottenham.
Luton Town, on the other hand, are only one point above the Premier League relegation zone and have won only once in their last five league matches.
Speaking in his BBC Sport column, Chris Sutton believes that this is a “big” moment for Luton Town’s season after their 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United last week.
“This is big for Luton because I don’t think anyone saw their defeat to bottom side Sheffield United coming,” he wrote.
“With Everton losing to Manchester City earlier on Saturday, it was a big chance for them to open up a gap on the bottom three, but they couldn’t take it.”
Sutton makes Luton Town vs Man Utd prediction
United narrowly edged out a 1-0 win over Luton Town at Old Trafford earlier this season, with Victor Lindelof scoring for the Red Devils in the second half.
Sutton has now predicted an “even closer” contest between the two sides and has backed a 2-2 scoreline between Luton Town and United at Kenilworth Road.
“I just wonder if that will trigger a little bit of doubt, but their performances at home have been very good against the bigger teams and I have a feeling we will see more of the same on Sunday,” he continued.
“Manchester United only beat Luton narrowly at Old Trafford in November, and this time I expect it to be even closer.”
