Axel Tuanzebe is in the best shape of his life as he prepares for pre-season
Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe might not be prepared to give up on his career at the club without a fight.
Whatever the future hold for the centre-back, Tuanzebe is determined to get into the best possible shape.
And from a picture released via his Instagram page, he is looking stronger than ever.
Tuanzebe’s ripped muscles might even give Cristiano Ronaldo a run for his money.
The Portuguese star shared a picture from the gym during his holiday at the weekend, looking immaculately chiselled and defying his age of 37.
Tuanzebe fighting for his future
Tuanzebe’s future at Manchester United could be nearing an end after two poor loan spells last season, in a make or break year for him.
A promising stint at Aston Villa went sour after a change of manager, before a second loan move to Napoli ended up as a disaster, where he played just 10 Serie A minutes.
Part of his issues at Napoli were injury related, and Tuanzebe’s gym work will be him looking to show clubs he is in top shape, as he looks to bounce back.
Now 24, Tuanzebe has not fulfilled his potential at Manchester United, although the memory of his excellent performance away at PSG in 2020 still stands out.
He has not been able to build on this and even if he were to stay at United, he is unlikely to play regularly, and needs a fresh start for the sake of his career. This past season showed loans are not the answer.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano said at the start of this month that Tuanzebe will leave Old Trafford, dependent on the right offer coming in.
If he is given the chance to impress new manager Erik ten Hag when he returns next week, Tuanzebe will look to grab the opportunity. It could be his last chance.
