Manchester United winger Antony has reflected on a successful night on his return to action at Old Trafford.
Antony was an unused substitute in Manchester United’s first two home matches of the season.
The Carabao Cup lined up as a chance for Erik ten Hag to rotate, and despite a pre-match warning to Antony, he got the start.
Antony won a penalty and stepped up to score it, sending Manchester United on the way to one of the club’s biggest ever victories.

Antony thrilled to step up
Antony has had to be very patient to return to action, especially as he has not been part of the Brazil squad over the past few months either.
Pre-season aside, this was Antony’s first start for Manchester United in months.
Antony turned down approaches from Turkish Super Lig teams and is determined to restore his reputation and become a success at Old Trafford.
Writing on Instagram after the win, Antony wrote: “What an amazing day! I thank God for it! I got to play, scored a goal, and we won the game!
“I’ll keep working hard to win more and more with this jersey!”
Manchester United teammates show support
Antony’s performance impressed Manchester United fans, and also earned the praise from his teammates.
Amad, Altay Bayindir and Rasmus Hojlund were among those to reach out to Antony and show their support.

Antony is expected to return to the bench against Crystal Palace at the weekend, making way for the always excellent Amad.
But this weekend, don’t be surprise if Antony gets a few more Premier League minutes.
He linked up well with his teammates against Barnsley, and while the low quality of the opposition has to be taken into account, Manchester United were ruthless, and Antony played his part.
