Former Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes faces a busy summer as he is set to become a free agent with several clubs likely to make their interest known.
It has almost been five years since Angel Gomes left Manchester United after rejecting a new deal to stay at the club.
Gomes had just 10 first-team appearances to his name and all of his Premier League appearances came as a substitute. He wanted to kick on with his career and did exactly that in France with Lille.
This saw an end to his 14-year association with United, but that hasn’t stopped him going from strength to strength as he earned his first senior England call-up last year.
A rise in prominence has seen Gomes linked with a possible return to England. Several clubs including United have been named as interested in recent months.

Angel Gomes drops transfer hint
Teams and players are already preparing for the summer transfer window.
Gomes appears to have made his first move by signing for renowned player agency ROOF.
ROOF announced the agreement on Instagram earlier this week.
Just in time for a busy few months because Gomes is expected to be on the list of many clubs as his time at Lille comes to an end.
Gomes was previously represented by Gol International, who look after professional footballers such as Christopher Nkunku and Robert Lewandowski.
Gomes has already made his stance known and it’s only a matter of time before he’s on the move.
Meanwhile, a report in The Sun states that Ruben Amorim has been tracking Gomes for a ‘long time’, which means he was on his radar during his time at Sporting CP.
What’s next for Angel Gomes?
Gomes is expected to focus on Lille for the remainder of the season.
Lille face AS Monaco this evening in Ligue 1 and they are currently positioned fifth in the standings.
Gomes will have the entire summer to plan his next move and a lot of the work will be done for him by ROOF.
That said, the final decision always comes down to the player.
