Andre Onana has been ruled out of Cameroon’s game against Libya in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers after the injury he sustained over the weekend.
The Manchester United goalkeeper looks set to be the next name on the list of absentees for the Red Devils as Altay Bayindir may now make his long-awaited debut against Everton next Sunday.
Andre Onana looked to be finally hitting top form for United after a rocky start in his career meant there were calls for Erik ten Hag to drop the Cameroon international.
He didn’t and Onana has looked much more assured as the season has gone on, but this injury concern is the latest in a long line of issues for the Red Devils.

Onana out
According to Reuters, the former Inter Milan goalkeeper will miss their final game before the end of the international break and will return to United for further checks.
The injury has been described as an ‘unspecified’ one despite this, Onana’s injury didn’t look too bad, however, so there may be hope for the 27-year-old, yet.
He looked to be struggling with his adductors when he went off with 10 minutes left of the 3-0 win over Mauritius in Douala but no detail of his injury was given by the federation.
Bayindir’s chance
Since joining United in the summer, Onana has been the main man between the sticks at Old Trafford but the recent injury scare for the 27-year-old gives Bayindir the chance he’s been waiting for.
The Turkish goalkeeper, who featured in his national side’s 3-2 win over Germany, has been limited to bench roles at the club since United signed him from Fenerbahce for £4.3 million but has been training well if reports are to be believed.
This may well be the Turkish goalkeeper’s big chance in the United team but it won’t be easy for the 25-year-old as the Red Devils take on Sean Dyche’s Everton at Goodison Park.
The Toffees will be baying for blood with the Goodison faithful right behind them following their 10-point deduction due to breaching Financial Fair Play rules. Bayindir will need to be at his best for the Red Devils.
