Amad showed enough bright signs in the first Manchester United friendly of the summer to highlight some of the attributes he has to offer.
While it was Noam Emeran who earned the fans’ man of the match award, there is no doubt that Amad took advantage of his time to shine too.
Amad was selected as a starter, as part of a three man attack without a striker. Manchester United did not score in the 45 minutes on the pitch, but it was not for lack of trying on his part.
Manchester United fans witnessed Amad show how natural he is in possession, and displaying an eagerness to test the defence with his off the ball runs.
When he got the ball, he showed he could go either way, which was notable considering how first choice star Amad has been criticised as being too one-note and predictable.
Amad had no problem at all creating chances, setting up an opportunity for Hannibal, which the Tunisian saw saved by the goalkeeper.
It was a 45 minutes which highlighted what a talent Amad is, and that he would benefit from playing alongside Manchester United’s senior stars.
This is a player don’t forget who has scored against AC Milan in a European knockout tie, who already has a senior international goal to his name, and who last season struck 14 goals on loan at Sunderland.
Amad is much more than a winger too, the role he was used in against Leeds. He can play as a number 10, and is the ideal cover for Bruno Fernandes and Antony.

Ten Hag on Amad
Having just turned 21, the time seems right for Amad to ascend to the first team, rather than delay.
To do so he needs to sufficiently impress Erik ten Hag, but the manager is giving little away, challenging Amad to win him over.
He told iNews: “You don’t make conclusions after week.”

Interest builds
The same outlet reports there is a queue of teams interested in taking Amad on loan if the opportunity presents itself.
Unnamed Premier League clubs, plus Championship sides Southampton, former club Sunderland, and an impressed Leeds, are also said to be keen.
They shouldn’t get too carried away. Manchester United don’t have the funds to spend on another creative player this summer, and Amad presents a smart way to strengthen the first team options.
With Facundo Pellistri potentially heading out on loan, Amad can slot straight in, providing Ten Hag decides to trust him.
The youngster clearly has the talent, and his breakthrough appears to be just around the corner. His performance in midweek was a positive start.
