Manchester United’s most in-form winger is currently out on loan. Amad Diallo continued his impressive run of form with another goal at the weekend.

Amad netted the second goal to help Sunderland to a derby win over Middlesbrough, managed by former Manchester United assistant Michael Carrick.

The 20-year-old was fresh off being named Sunderland’s player of the month, and looks determined to keep racking up the awards.

He now has seven goals in 14 league starts this season for the Black Cats, plus a further seven appearances from the bench.

Amad scores again

Amad was a force to be reckoned with, playing in a central attacking role for Sunderland. It was a position he thrived in.

He completed 73 of 75 passes (97 per cent), making 93 touches in total. Amad is not just chipping in with the odd goal, he is dominating games.

Amad created three goalscoring chances and had three shots at goal. His performance was praised by the Chronicle which rated him 8/10.

The rating read that he “caused Boro problems every time he ran at their defence” and ‘fully deserved’ his goal.

The option to recall Amad was referenced by Erik ten Hag earlier this month when he was asked about it, but the manager is taking the long-term view.

Amad scored one and provided an assist in pre-season for Ten Hag, and when he returns to the club next summer, he could become a key player at United.

His ability to play both on the wing and in the centre could be very useful for the manager, who is lacking reliable options, and could do with a player to back-up Bruno Fernandes.

Amad is using this time in the Championship to sharpen up his game, and prove that he can cope physically. He is getting better as the season goes on, and showing no sign of slowing down.
