Manchester United youngster Noam Emeran enjoyed a breakout moment as Manchester United won the club’s first friendly of the summer.
There was so much talent on the pitch in the two XIs Erik ten Hag selected in each half against Leeds that it was inevitable there would be a player with a special moment to remember.
Few may have predicted that it would be Noam Emeran who was the star of the show. The young winger is talented, but has struggled with injuries on and off during his time at Old Trafford since his 2019 move from Amiens.
We wrote this week that this would be a decisive summer for Emeran, who has only one year left on his contract. His performance against Leeds could open up a few doors for him.

Noam Emeran goal and assist
Noam Emeran ended last season with four goals in his final three games for Manchester United’s under-21 side.
He returned with the same sharpness he left off with, thankfully, making the most of his first team opportunity.
Emeran was one of the half-time substitutes and his coolly taken goal broke the deadlock after Isak Hansen-Aaroen’s pass played him in.
MORE UNITED STORIES
A few minutes later Emeran turned provider, with an assist for striker Joe Hugill.
The young Frenchman was named by Manchester United fans as man of the match, reward for a fantastic 45 minutes.
Emeran posted on Instagram to express his happiness at making an impact. He wrote: “Beautiful moment to score my first goal for this club and feel the support of our incredible fans. Thank you to everyone !! All glory to God.”
Teammate support
Noam Emeran’s Manchester United teammates reached out to congratulate him on his contribution, including Amad.
Emeran is clearly a popular player among his colleagues and he will hope this goal is just the start for him.

Emeran will hope for another opportunity next week against Lyon, before more of the first team regulars return.
A loan move may lie ahead for Emeran, the first of his career, and his performance will have caught the attention of a few clubs who could use him.
