Amad’s loan move to Rangers has been finalised. The deal has moved quickly and the winger has been unveiled this afternoon.

The youngster told Rangers’ website he is excited for the move, commenting: “It is fantastic for me at this stage of my career to have the opportunity to come to such a big club that is challenging on a number of fronts and will give me some excellent opportunities to test myself in many environments.”

Amad could be involved in Rangers’ first team at the weekend against Ross County, and their first match in February is the derby with Celtic.

The winger has left Manchester United in search of regular playing time. He has played just once all season.

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst said: “He is a player who I have been aware of for some time, and when the opportunity to sign him came up, we very keen to make it happen.

Van Bronckhorst’s former club Feyenoord tried to sign Amad last summer on loan before injury saw the move fall through.

Ross Wilson, Rangers sporting director added: “This is a really exciting signing for us as Amad was highly sought after by a number of clubs.

“We have been working hard with Manchester United and Amad’s agents throughout January to reach an agreement for Amad to become a Rangers player.”

Amad has also been assigned the squad number 9 as he looks to get started at Ibrox.

    On just his second international appearance, Amad scored a matchwinning free-kick for Ivory Coast against Burkina Faso.
