Manchester United winger Amad is stepping up his recovery from injury as he works his way back towards full fitness.

Amad shared a video via Instagram stories where he was training alone, but now progressing to ball work.

A previous video released by Manchester United just showed Amad running and doing fitness drills. Now he is taking a further step forward.

Amad’s video showed him doing tricks and flicks with the ball, and aiming and succeeding in striking it against the crossbar. His confidence is clearly still there.

Amad injury latest

Amad suffered a knee injury in pre-season against Arsenal in July in a friendly match in New York.

He has not played a single minute this season so far, with the injury keeping him out.

Amad has never played a competitive minute under Erik ten Hag, and has not played for Manchester United’s first team since December 2021.

Amad has window to shine

Amad is not expected to be back before the November break. At the rate he is progressing, he could make his return to full training after the internationals.

From there, Amad will have an important few weeks to try and make in-roads towards the Manchester United first team.

A pile up of fixtures in December combined with poor form from right winger Antony could see Amad get some first team opportunities, and it will be up to him to take them from there.

January will have some complications, as teams will be interested in acquiring him on loan, while he could also be selected for the African Cup of Nations squad for Ivory Coast.

Manchester United fans are intrigued to see if Amad can have something to offer this side. He was making progress in pre-season as he followed up his 14-goal loan at Sunderland last season. But that injury has knocked his season off-kilter.

His chance to bounce back and make up for lost time is fast approaching.
