Amad Diallo rejected an approach from several European clubs before committing his long-term future to Manchester United.

It has been an incredible emergence campaign for Amad Diallo at Manchester United.

The 22-year-old was a fringe player at the start of the season, but Erik ten Hag set him a challenge to impact United’s first-team after spending time out on loan at Rangers and Sunderland.

Amad eventually earned a regular place in the team after Ruben Amorim’s arrival. He has since shown why with goals in big games against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Furthermore, Amad saved the day for United when his 12-minute hat-trick forced a crucial comeback win over Southampton.

It’s easy to see why United were keen to tie Amad down to a new deal and he has potential to get even better.

Amad snubbed Barcelona for Manchester United stay

It comes as no surprise that Amad’s performances for United led to transfer interest.

Speaking to United In Focus, transfer expert Graeme Bailey reveals Barcelona were one of the teams looking to sign Amad Diallo before he signed his new deal.

It is understood that a number of sides lodged an interest with Amad’s representatives and we can confirm one of those was Barcelona.

The Ivory Coast international has become a vital player after scoring five goals and bagging as many assists in his last 11 Premier League matches.

Amad has been the silver lining throughout a difficult campaign for United, with the Reds currently sat 12th in the league table.

Barcelona linked with Marcus Rashford

Amad is not the only United player to attract interest from Barcelona in recent months.

Reports suggest Barcelona want to sign Marcus Rashford, who has been strongly linked with an exit from Old Trafford.

Barcelona have struggled to register new players due to their financial situation, so it’s hard to believe that they will find a way to secure a deal for Marcus Rashford.

But that won’t stop media reports.

Amad’s stock has surpassed Rashford at Old Trafford. There is little to no hope of United considering offers for their in-form winger.

Unlike Rashford, Amad has decided on the next step of his career, which we’re happy to say will be at United.
