Amad Diallo has responded to an Instagram post that indicates there’s a chance he won’t be playing at Old Trafford for Manchester United next season.
The Ivorian winger has been on loan at Sunderland in the Championship this season and has certainly made an impact. He’s been sublime for the Black Cats, scoring goals for fun and bagging himself the Player of the Season award at the club.
Due to this, United fans are massively excited for him to come back to the club and potentially dazzle crowds in Manchester next season.
A recent response by Amad to an Instagram post could mean this won’t actually happen. More below.

Amad responds to a Sunderland fan account post
In an Instagram post from a Sunderland fan account, safc.till.i.die, they reported the following:
‘Amad Diallo is willing to go back to Sunderland if boss Tony Mowbray stays. The 14-goal winger, 20, starred with the Black Cats on loan and is considering his next move.’
Diallo responded to this with a handshake emoji. This indicates that he would in fact return if the manager stays on.
This is a strange one, as Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Diallo is ‘crazy for Manchester United’. He also suggests that the club were even set to offer him a new long-term deal in the near future.
How likely is Tony Mowbray to stay?
The Daily Mail has reported that even though there’s speculation over his future, it’s looking like Tony Mowbray will stay on as coach of Sunderland next season.
If Amad’s message does mean anything, this means that he does want to play there next season. We’ll have to see if there’s any truth behind this, or whether the message was simply misconstrued.
