Manchester United are going through some major changes, both on and off the pitch, and while some sweat over their futures, one player is more than safe at Old Trafford.

The Manchester United owners, including Sir Jim Ratcliffe, have made it abundantly clear that nearly every player is up for sale.

Despite being a peripheral figure under former manager Erik Ten Hag, Amad Diallo has remained determined to become a Manchester United first-team regular.

Although he was overlooked several times last season, according to Manchester Evening News, the young Ivorian’s offer to appear in pre-season press conferences when other, more senior, players had refused, silenced his critics.

The likes of Scott McTominay, Jadon Sancho and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were not keen to represent the club, probably due to knowing they were going to be leaving the club soon. Mason Mount and Marcus Rashford were also stand-offish when asked to speak to reporters alongside their manager.

Amad Diallo, on the other hand, was more than happy to face the media’s difficult questions and did so in a professional manner. The youngster’s public appearance left ‘cynical colleagues’ so impressed they shook his hand behind the scenes.

Earning his stripes and becoming an integral figure under Ruben Amorim, Amad Diallo has been rewarded with a new Manchester United contract.

The 22-year-old has committed until 2030, and as United In Focus exclusively revealed, has quadrupled his wages to around £120,000-a-week.

There hasn’t been too much to shout about at United this season, but Amad Diallo’s rise from outsider to first-name-on-the-team-sheet is definitely one of them.

With Amad Diallo arguably United’s most influential player this season, Amorim will be expected to build his team around the talented wide-man.

Set to continue at Old Trafford for the foreseeable, Amad Diallo will play a crucial role in United’s quest for glory during the second half of the season, including a possible cup competition defence which starts with an FA Cup Third Round tie against Arsenal on Sunday — a match the winger is likely to start.
