Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri showed that all he needed was an opportunity, with a debut he will remember forever.
Coming off the bench as an 85th minute substitute, the young Uruguayan provided one assist and almost had two.
He made everybody wonder just quite how it took so long for his opportunity to come his way.
Pellistri signed in 2020, and it has taken until 2023 for his debut, but we are here now, and Pellistri made it worth waiting for.

Teammates praise Facundo Pellistri
Pellistri was lauded for his performance, with Harry Maguire telling MUTV in a post-game interview that the winger ‘upped the tempo’ late in the game.
The winger posted on Instagram: “The day has come. Happy to make my official debut.”
Pellistri was deluged with responses from teammates happy to see his big moment arrive, and for him to make the most of it.
Among them was Amad, who signed on the same day, who has had a different path, making his debut before going out on loan.
David de Gea, Harry Maguire, and World Cup winning teammate Lisandro Martinez all reached out to congratulate him.

Erik ten Hag impressed
Manager Erik ten Hag was delighted to see Pellistri make an impact with his brief appearance.
He told the club website: “It was not long but he was really lively, some good actions and also the assist on the second goal.”
“I was happy with his performance at the World Cup so his progress is really good and now he is coming on and has an effect. So that’s the next step that I say: ‘well done Pelli, keep going’.”
