Alejandro Garnacho’s brother teases ‘dream’ link-up he wants to see at Man Utd in four-word message, his feelings are clear

The brother of Alejandro Garnacho would be keen to see the Argentina and Manchester United star play alongside one player at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho is away on international duty with Argentina for the September international break alongside Manchester United teammate Lisandro Martinez.

The 20-year-old United winger came off the bench in the second half and replaced Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in the 3-0 win over Chile on Friday.

Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring for Argentina early in the second half before former Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez netted in the 84th minute.

Paulo Dybala found the back of the net in injury time thanks to an assist from Garnacho at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires.

Garnacho had received only limited playing time for Argentina under manager Lionel Scaloni at the 2024 Copa America in the United States in the summer.

Garnacho’s brother on dream collaboration

Alejandro Garnacho went viral on social media after his brother shared an image of the Manchester United star as a youngster wearing a Paulo Dybala shirt.

Roberto Garnacho took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, and tweeted about wanting to “dream peacefully” about a link-up between the two players.

Posting photos of Paulo Dybala and Garnacho, he wrote: “Let me dream peacefully.”

In separate tweets, Roberto was in awe at his brother setting up Dybala and then praised the two players’ impact for Argentina in the win over Chile.

“And let’s all dream together [for] Argentina,” he said.

Scaloni talks Garnacho and Argentina

Garnacho made his Argentina debut under Lionel Scaloni, who has engineered silverware success for La Albiceleste at their last three major tournaments.

Scaloni’s men lifted the Copa America title in 2021 after beating host nation Brazil in the final before capturing the World Cup trophy in 2022 in Qatar.

Argentina successfully defended their Copa America crown in the summer, with Scaloni now looking ahead to his country’s World Cup title defence in 2026.

Speaking after the Chile match, Scaloni praised the impact of Garnacho in the World Cup qualifier and insisted that the United star did “everything right” in the match.

“The national team needs no-one to relax,” he told TyC Sports.

“I don’t like to talk about substitutions. Today, it was Alejandro’s turn, and we need him to get into the team’s way of playing.

“Today, he did everything right, but we need to take it little by little.”
