The brother of Alejandro Garnacho dropped a clear-cut verdict on one moment involving the Manchester United star in the 7-0 win over Barnsley at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag’s men punched their ticket to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with an emphatic win over the League One side on Tuesday evening.
Manchester United simply outclassed and dominated Barnsley in a one-sided performance, with Erik ten Hag’s side producing a convincing display overall.
The Red Devils have now picked up two consecutive wins across all competitions since the end of the September international break.
United had suffered back-to-back Premier League defeats before the September break, with the Red Devils losing 2-1 to Brighton and 3-0 to Liverpool.
However, Ten Hag’s men returned to winning ways on Saturday with their 3-0 Premier League win over Southampton before their demolition of Barnsley.
Alejandro Garnacho played a starring role in the steamrolling of Barnsley, with the United star netting twice and picking up two assists in a superb performance.
Garnacho’s brother reacts to celebration
Alejandro Garnacho was deployed out on the left wing instead of the right flank for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup win at Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old Spain-born attacker set up Marcus Rashford, who played down the middle, both in the first half and second half of Manchester United’s win.
Garnacho added his name to the scoresheet before half-time to put United 3-0 up, with the Argentina star completing his brace four minutes into the second half.
The United star’s brother made his feelings clear on Garnacho starting out on the left and the impact that the Argentina international can have on matches.
Responding to one account on X, formerly known as Twitter, Roberto Garnacho wrote: “I said he is better from the left and people called me crazy, I don’t care starting, from the bench, he is just better, he is the 90 minutes [of] creating chances.”
Garnacho pulled out the iconic billboard celebration after he netted the first of his brace against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup contest.
Casemiro appeared to try his best to stop Garnacho from hopping on the board, with the United winger’s celebration paying homage to Cristiano Ronaldo.
One user on X asked Roberto Garnacho why United midfielder Casemiro didn’t take part in the celebration with the Argentina international.
Casemiro was spotted in front of Alejandro during the celebration, with Roberto now claiming that the former Real Madrid star “didn’t want to celebrate like that.”
Roberto wrote in response to one fan: “[Because] it’s the [sic] 3-0 against a League [One] team, he didn’t want to celebrate like that, but I told him to do the celebration anyways.”
Ten Hag on Man Utd win vs Barnsley
United manager Erik ten Hag took away positives from the result against Barnsley and admitted his side do really well when they are “really compact” against teams.
“That when we have the right shape, we can find the spaces where we can play,” he told Sky Sports, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“Then we are really compact, we can press as a team towards the ball and then I think it’s difficult for every team to play against us, so we are hard to beat and that’s the way we should act.”
