Alejandro Garnacho was perfectly positioned for Cristiano Ronaldo's goal celebration

Alejandro Garnacho was on the bench to witness Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest Manchester United goal.

The youngster was a little bit closer to the action actually, having been sent out to warm up before Ronaldo won the penalty.

In anticipation of Ronaldo’s goal, Garnacho was perfectly positioned, and was among the first to embrace the striker as he celebrated.

Garnacho paid tribute to Ronaldo on social media after the game, sharing a wonderful picture of himself looking on in awe at the striker as he performed his ‘Siuu’ celebration.

Garnacho is seen looking on in amazement in the picture he shared below, as teammates Fred and Edinson Cavani also applauded the forward.

Garnacho was an unused substitute, although did get to share the pitch with idol Ronaldo briefly against Chelsea last week.

United preferred to utilise some of the older players to give them a farewell at Old Trafford, with Garnacho’s teammate Alvaro Fernandez also an unused substitute.

It’s possible he could play a role at the end of the season, but the priority is the FA Youth Cup final on May 11th.

Rangnick could be under strict instructions to ensure Garnacho is fresh and doesn’t pick up an injury ahead of that, but we have seen this season, the 17-year-old won’t be held back for much longer. With 17 goals for the academy sides this season, the youngster has a huge future.
