Alejandro Garnacho emotional after making Manchester United debut
After his incredible academy performances, not many Manchester United fans were asking ‘who is Alejandro Garnacho?’ when he came off the bench against Chelsea.
The teenager is well used to Old Trafford, scoring six of his 16 academy goals this season at the stadium.
Now he has made his first team debut, and if you didn’t already know Garnacho, you soon will do.
The young forward was emotional after coming off the bench in the final minutes of Manchester United’s draw with Chelsea.
He said the debut was proof dreams can come true, and pledged this is just the start.
Garnacho, 17, had been on the bench in recent weeks, and was recently called up to Argentina at international level.
United signed Garnacho from Atletico Madrid in 2020.
Just on Tuesday night he was playing an under-18s game for United at Blackburn.
Garnacho will hope for more minutes next Monday when United host Brentford at Old Trafford.
After thay his priority will be the FA Youth Cup final at Old Trafford on May 11.
Strong performances there may even catch new boss Erik ten Hag’s eye. The Dutchman will certainly be watching from afar.
