Alejandro Garnacho sends message to Manchester United fans

Alejandro Garnacho‘s first taste of a Manchester United and Liverpool derby was not an enjoyable one.

The teenager was on the bench as the Red Devils were thrashed 7-0 by Liverpool on Sunday, coming on with the score at 3-0.

By this time United had already lost control of the game, and Erik ten Hag’s initial game plan had fallen to shreds, with his teammates’ good recent form collapsing.

It won’t have been a pleasant experience at all, but if there’s one player who doesn’t deserve criticism, it is the 18-year-old.

Garnacho sends message

This is a new experience for Alejandro Garnacho, whose time with the Manchester United first team since his mid-October promotion has been largely confined to winning.

Just a week after the team clinched silverware, Garnacho is now fully ingratiated into the Old Trafford rollercoaster ride.

Last night the teenager sent a message to Manchester United fans via Twitter.

“We are so sorry. We will give you a reaction on Thursday, Reds.”

Days earlier Garnacho was the hero, after scoring a crucial goal to carry Manchester United into the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Truth be told he rescued United from a very average performance against West Ham. The whole team needs to perform better than they have done in the last two matches.

He is part of a squad now desperate to get back to action this week against Real Betis. This renewed focus from all the players could end up as a real positive.
