Alejandro Garnacho has revealed that he is “trying to improve” and has stepped up to one major challenge under Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
The 20-year-old Manchester United and Argentina winger has scored 11 times and picked up 10 assists in 54 matches for the Red Devils in the 2024-25 campaign.
Alejandro Garnacho has remained a key United first-team player under Ruben Amorim and the Spain-born attacker has impressed at times this season.
Amorim’s men are now preparing for the crucial second-leg Europa League semi-final clash against Athletic Club at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.
United hold the advantage over Athletic Club after the Red Devils secured a 3-0 win in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals last Thursday in Spain.
The Red Devils are now within touching distance of the 2025 Europa League final after United’s result against 10-man Athletic Club at the San Mames Stadium.
Either United or Athletic Club will face fellow semi-finalists Bodo/Glimt or Tottenham in the Europa League final on 25th May at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.

Alejandro Garnacho makes ‘follow the rules’ claim ahead of Man Utd’s Europa League semi-final contest against Athletic Club
Ruben Amorim wasted no time rolling out a crucial change at Old Trafford after he left Sporting CP in 2024 and became Manchester United manager.
The 40-year-old former Sporting CP manager ensured his philosophy has been upheld at the Red Devils and Amorim has rolled out his tactical system at United.
Amorim has been urged to walk back on his formation at United amid a mixed set of results, but the Portuguese coach has stuck by his blueprint this season.
Speaking at United’s pre-match press conference, Alejandro Garnacho admitted that all of United players have found the formation change difficult under Amorim.
“I think it is difficult for everyone when it is in the middle of the season when a new manager comes in and changes the formation,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.
“We just need to follow the rules and I am trying to improve every day. I think we are improving as a team also.”
Alejandro Garnacho now breaks silence on Man Utd’s Premier League campaign and the Europa League run
Garnacho admitted that United have underwhelmed in the Premier League and the Argentina winger insisted that the Red Devils are focused on the Europa League.
“We know that we are not doing a great job in the Premier League,” he said.
“But the manager said before that we have followed the rules and tomorrow is a final, and we will face it like it is 0-0.
“If we win the Europa League, we will be in the Champions League and we will face next season with a different mentality and in a different way.”
United and Athletic Club will meet in the second leg of the Europa League semi-finals and kick-off for the match is slated for 8pm UK time at Old Trafford.
