Alejandro Garnacho has named the Manchester United star who is exactly like his dad.
Garnacho has had a fantastic breakthrough season with Erik ten Hag‘s side. The tricky Argentine winger has proven that despite his young age he can mix with the big boys.
Due to this, he was rewarded with a lucrative new deal that keeps him at the club until 2028.
This is fantastic news for the player and club alike, with Garnacho destined to be a first-team regular in the future.
Garnacho believes Lisando Martinez emulates his father
Garnacho sat down with United’s media team following the contract extension and spoke about his time at Old Trafford so far and also his future.
One question he was asked was which teammates have helped him the most since your promotion to the first team? The Argentine responded:
“The truth is that from the first day I entered the locker room they have treated me like one of their own. In the end, I am the youngest of the group.
“Lisandro Martínez is like my father. I tell him that he is like my father, because when he has to scold me, he scolds me, and when I do things well, he tells me. He always tries to help me with everything.”
He then went on to name two other players who have taken the young man under their wing.
“Bruno [Fernandes] is also quite close. He helps me in everything he can. I am also very close friends with [David] De Gea. In the end, we both speak the same language. He is a very close player to me, so we get along very well. They help me a lot.”
Garnacho is back in training and hopes to make his return imminently. Unfortunately he won’t have Martinez in the dressing room for guidance, as he is out for the rest of the season with a metatarsal injury.
