Manchester United came from behind to claim an absolutely crucial home victory over Brentford on Saturday afternoon.
Erik ten Hag managed to keep his job over the international break but the Manchester United boss certainly needed a result against Brentford.
United fell behind before the break though as Ethan Pinnock headed the visitors into the lead from a corner.
A response was needed after the break and we certainly saw that as Marcus Rashford picked out Alejandro Garnacho to level it up.
Rasmus Hojlund then grabbed his first goal of the season to win the game, calmly dinking the ball home from a brilliant Bruno Fernandes flick.
United simply had to win this game and Ten Hag got the job done; it wasn’t vintage United but this was all about getting the three points.

Seeing two of United’s young players come up with the goals will have been a timely boost for everybody.
United are banking on Garnacho and Hojlund becoming top players in the coming years and Saturday’s win demonstrated what they can do.
Garnacho’s finish was a superb first-time strike from Rashford’s whipped cross before Hojlund showed a deft touch to find the net.
Garnacho – who United fans voted as Man of the Match – has now moved to praise Hojlund whilst speaking to MUTV after Saturday’s victory.
The Argentinian suggested that Hojlund was brilliant in terms of his hold-up play as he allowed United to breathe off the ball.
Garnacho even joked that the goal was the ‘worst part’ of Hojlund’s performance because the rest of his display was just so good.
“I think the goal was the worst part of his performance because he held the ball very well and gave breath to the team! It was important for us and for the counter attack, so I’m very happy for him also,” he added.
Hojlund needs momentum now
We know how good Hojlund can be at his best and United fans loved his display on Saturday.
The Dane is still developing and has endured a slow start to the season due to picking up an injury during pre-season.
Now back in action again, Hojlund is off the mark for the season and will hopefully really kick on.
Joshua Zirkzee didn’t take his chance in the United attack when Hojlund was out and the former Atalanta man is now in the box seat once again.
A Europa League trip to Fenerbahce is now on the horizon and Hojlund – who enjoyed European games so much last season – will be desperate to keep the good feeling going in Turkiye.
