Alejandro Garnacho is ‘positively angry’ and doing what he could not do 18 months ago, he’s changed

Alejandro Garnacho is changing before our eyes and showing he can dominate games at first team level.

Last year a Spanish newspaper compared Alejandro Garnacho to Eric Cantona. It was quite the bold take, and just another big comparison, for a player lauded in Argentina as the next Lionel Messi, who idolises Cristiano Ronaldo.

Alejandro Garnacho can’t control any of this, all he can do is take his progression step by step, and work on improving, and we are clearly seeing the results.

Against Barnsley, Garnacho produced his best performance of his Manchester United career, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

Alejandro Garnacho growing into a star

Alejandro Garnacho is making real progress, and Manchester United fans have seen his improvement through his blossoming career.

The teenager is a FA Youth Cup winner, and now he is a FA Cup winner, and he does not want to stop there.

MUTV pundit Danny Webber puts Garnacho’s improvement down to his physical growth, noting that he now has the ability to sustain his quality across 90 minutes.

He explained: “You know when he come in the team, he’s working in bursts, and he physically couldn’t really do the whole 90 minutes.

“And over the last 18 months, he’s got stronger and stronger.

“You’ve seen him physically. His legs are getting bigger. He’s physically starting to grow into the young man’s body.

“And you go from changing into a boy’s body to a man’s body, and you get that extra burst.

“You just look, he looks powerful and he looks like when he’s one on one, you never doubt that he will score. You always back him.”

Garnacho is adding goals and assists to his game, four strikes and three assists already this season.

Garnacho ‘positively angry’

Alejandro Garnacho has only started one of four Premier League games this season and former star Wes Brown believes this had a big impact on his explosive performance.

Speaking to MUTV, Brown described Garnacho as “positively angry”, with his desire to impress really making a mark on opponents Barnsley.

If there is one disappointment about Garnacho’s display, its that he did not cap it with a hat-trick.

Garnacho had a chance in the second half to score his third, and blazed over the bar. He won’t forget that, and it will drive him on, and keep him hungry.
