Marcus Rashford hasn’t been up to his usual best recently, but should he be dropped in favour of a more dangerous Alejandro Garnacho? Here is why we think he should.
Manchester United again last Saturday looked toothless and created far too few chances, only saved by a Diogo Dalot thunderbolt from range against Sheffield United.
Marcus Rashford in particular struggled despite having a few near assists for Rasmus Hojlund which is disappointing after his inspirational goal for England last week.
However, it has become rather unsurprising when he fails to perform as the £375k-per-week player has just one goal this season in all competitions.
A terrible return considering he bagged 30 last season which warranted his new and improved contract. But the true nature of his scoring issues can’t be understated.
Here is why we think Rashford should be dropped against Copenhagen in the Champions League.

The alarming reason Rashford should be replaced
Rashford has been ever-present this season with 919 minutes played thus far according to BBC Sport. This makes his one goal an awful return, especially when considering that he has a conversion rate from his shots of just seven per cent.
This poor run stretches back to last May, which means Rashford has one goal in 13 games. A statistic which he no doubt will be aware of and desperate to redeem.
In order to get him back to his best though, it could be beneficial to first look at dropping him.
A period on the bench could force him to work his way back in and rediscover his lethal touch as right now he seems untouchable no matter how poor he gets.
Alejandro Garnacho is the answer
Alejandro Garnacho is another who has stagnated a little this season as he often comes from the bench in losing situations where the team are struggling.
The last time he started was against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup where he scored a goal, which led to calls he should replace Rashford.
Playing a third of the minutes Rashford has, Garnacho would undoubtedly have more contributions had he played a similar amount.
Dangerous every time he gets the ball, he causes defenders issues and makes things happen. Something Rashford can’t quite do at the moment.
