Casemiro has been talking to club media and has picked out one player who he says could ‘define an era’ at the club.

Rasmus Hojlund is only in his first season as a Manchester United player but already has shown signs of being the real deal.

The £64m striker has scored six goals in all competitions and recently broke his duck in the Premier League with an excellent strike vs Aston Villa.

He’s been a huge improvement on the style of striker United have had in recent years, with his physical presence and running a massive boost.

Now, club leader Casemiro has dropped a fresh verdict on the 20-year-old Dane.

Casemiro lauds Rasmus Hojlund

Speaking to club media, Casemiro began by explaining that he feels sometimes people are too harsh on Hojlund given he is still learning.

“At the end of the day, he’s just a kid, so we shouldn’t be putting a lot of pressure on him,” Casemiro explained. “A lot of people think that he should be coming in and scoring 30-odd goals right away. He’s still young and this is his first season in the Premier League.”

Casemiro then began to laud the striker and made an ambitious claim over his future.

“He’s definitely playing better in every game and he’s working really hard. Rasmus is a dedicated lad and he’s keen to kick on.

“He’ll be a great player for this club and, with the ambitions he has, he could define an era at Manchester United.”

Can Hojlund be United’s long-term striker?

Hojlund has shown already this season that he has various qualities which all point toward him being an excellent player for United.

Currently earning £85k-a-week he’s a player with several years remaining on his contract and was signed more than anything for his potential.

The fact he bagged so many goals in the Champions League – five – shows that he has the goalscoring ability and now he’s opened his Premier League account he should kick on.
