Manchester United winger Antony has been under pressure this season due to his poor performances and now has off-field complications.
The Brazilian winger has some rather serious allegations against his name and his future remains uncertain. Antony has been dropped from Brazil and United have acknowledged the allegations.
The former Ajax winger has struggled to contribute anything meaningful on the pitch this season and has been overshadowed by the performances, from the bench, of Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Pellistri.
One former United left-back seemingly doesn’t believe that the winger has been value for money so far at Old Trafford.

Mitchell’s not convinced by Antony
Demetri Mitchell, who came through the club’s famed youth academy and made his senior debut against Crystal Palace under Jose Mourinho, isn’t a fan of Antony’s skill set and believes the winger isn’t up there alongside some of the top wingers in the league.
“Not sure what Antony brings to the party, ” The former United defender now playing for Exeter City said on X. “From the ‘eye test’ and his stats, (I) can’t see him ever being on the same planet as (Bukayo) Saka, (Marcus) Rashford, (Phil) Foden, (Gabriel) Martinelli or (Kaoru) Mitoma just to name a few.”
Is Mitchell right
The Brazilian winger has yet to justify his rather inflated price tag, apart from his first three Premier League games where he netted three goals, he has really struggled for goals and assists at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag has stuck with him throughout his tenure at Old Trafford but you do wonder if patience is wearing thin from the Dutchman, especially with the options he has at his disposal.
Pellistri, in particular, has looked superb every time he has come on for United and you do wonder when the Uruguayan will be given a starting role in Ten Hag’s team because he certainly deserves one.
