Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has been spotted in training despite him looking to be a doubt for the Red Devils’ vital clash against Bayern Munich.
Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire started for Manchester United against Bournemouth but the Red Devils suffered a 3-0 defeat to the South Coast side and they were soundly beaten in the end.
Shaw, however, needs to be played at left-back to get the best out of the former Southampton defender but at the moment, due to Erik ten Hag’s shunning of Raphael Varane, the Englishman is lining up at centre-back.
Victor Lindelof returning to the team would be a welcome boost and Ten Hag has provided an update on the Swedish defender.
Ten Hag on Lindelof
Speaking to the media ahead of the game against Bayern Munich, Ten Hag was asked about any returning absentees for the game against the Bavarian side.
“It is a condensed programme. We have training… I am not sure about everyone who is available. Question mark on Victor Lindelof. We have to wait for tomorrow,” Ten Hag said.
The Swedish defender returning to the team would be useful as it allows Shaw to return to his more natural position on the left of the back four.
The former SL Benfica defender looks to be a doubt for the game, but Lindelof was spotted in training on Monday afternoon.
Martial and Rashford absent
As mentioned, the Swedish defender was pictured in training and he now looks he could be available for the game against the Bavarian side.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, however, were not spotted in training due to illnesses and the pair could be set to miss out against the German side.
Mason Mount was also not spotted in training for the Red Devils ahead of the clash against Bayern and the Englishman will surely miss the following game against Liverpool, as a result.
The German side come into the game off the back of a 5-1 drubbing to Eintracht Frankfurt and have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
The hope from those at Old Trafford will be that the German side are off the boul and United, with the crowd behind them, can catch them cold.
