Julian Brandt is one of Europe’s best bargains available for transfer this summer.
Here are three reasons why we’d love to see him at Manchester United.
United lack players like him
Brandt is an attacking midfielder with an ability to play on the wing as well as centrally. His best position is through the centre.
Juan Mata has been unable to hold down this role and his future is unclear. Jesse Lingard has been a disappointment and needs a challenger.
This season Brandt has scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists for Bayer Leverkusen.
Bring him to United, make him first choice and watch him flourish at Old Trafford.
Brandt is available from Leverkusen this summer for just £21.5 million.
This is due to a release clause in his contract which kicked in after his side failed to qualify for the Champions League.
The Mail report Tottenham are interested, with Goal claiming Juventus are also keen.
£21.5 million is excellent value for a player who is already a German international.
Sky high potential
Brandt is only going to get better, and one strong season at United would see his valuation double.
Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz told the Bundesliga website earlier this season: “He’s such a good player and you’ve got to give good players the ball as much as possible.
“Today he was really exceptional. He barely lost the ball, he was choosing the right moments to complete the triangles. He’s a great player.”
United need players like Brandt to unlock defences and in the bigger picture, start catching up with City. Brandt could be a key figure, if United choose to make a move.
