Manchester United could have a new first-team player next season, and it’s a decision that might be out of Ruben Amorim’s hands, so good has a loanee been.
Outside of loans for players like Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund, and more, most loans are sanctioned to get a player potentially ready for the first team.
Youngsters like Harry Amass, Radek Vitek, and Ethan Williams have lived up to that challenge this season by putting in solid performances.
WHICH Manchester United loanee have you been most impressed by this season and why?🔥⚽️
However, one loanee is increasingly blowing everyone else out of the water, and his latest performance might be his best one yet.

Harry Amass is unstoppable for Sheffield Wednesday
Amass’ loan to Sheffield Wednesday was the kind of sink-or-swim challenge that the club gives to highly-rated players before a first-team place.
Wednesday are a team in disarray, on and off the pitch, which is something Ruben Amorim alluded to recently, albeit in poor choice of words.
However, Amass hasn’t let the club’s malaise affect him, regularly standing out as the club’s leading light in difficult times.
The latest instalment of Amass’ unstoppable form came in the recent 0-0 draw at home against Blackburn Rovers.
Amass, unsurprisingly, stood out as the best player on the pitch, winning the MOTM award by putting in a performance Amorim should be proud of.
He had 75 touches of the ball, recovered it 11 times, won an insane 13 out of 16 duels contested, and added eight defensive contributions on top of it. (Stats courtesy Fotmob)
Considering his physicality and defensive acumen were the only things under doubt when he was breaking out at United, this is a statement display from Amass.
Amass is becoming undeniable for Ruben Amorim
Despite Amass’ sterling form for Wednesday, his recent standing at United has taken a hit due to some ill-advised passive-aggressive jabs at Amorim.
Amorim called out Amass and Chido Obi for posting an indirect response to his academy comments on social media, and it’s well-known by now how important professionalism is for Amorim.
Ruben Amorim believes Harry Amass and Chido Obi would not make an impact in the Man Utd first team 🤔
What do you think of Amorim's comments? Is he making a good point, or is he losing it?
However, seeing what Amass has done on the pitch since that episode, it’s clear that he has put that mistake behind him.
As it stands, there is an increasingly strong argument for making Amass a first-team fixture next season based on his displays this year.
Another avenue could be to search for a Premier League loan for him, but it’s not hard to see an alternate reality where Amass is doing what he’s doing right now as a non-Utd player, with the club wanting to buy him from Wednesday.
Amass is doing all he can to make himself undeniable in Amorim’s eyes, and performances like these only strengthen his argument.
