Despite coming off after 70, Kobbie Mainoo was once again sublime. However, he has praise for the Manchester United match-winner at full-time.
Kobbie Mainoo praises Amad Diallo
Taking to Instagram after the victory, Mainoo posted a collection of photos and a caption that all Manchester United fans can all resonate with: ‘Amad, you beauty.’
Amad Diallo, no matter what he does for Manchester United, has just written himself into the history books.
After a season struggling for game time, the Ivorian winger came on after 85 minutes and produced absolute magic at Old Trafford.
He scored the decider, put through by Alejandro Garnacho in the 120th and slotting home past Caoimhin Kelleher to send the Stretford End into sheer delirium.
But it ended somewhat sourly for Amad…
Unfortunately in the sheer chaos of it all, Amad took his shirt off and was sent off, having already been booked after an earlier yellow. He reflected post-match t o ITV after the game:
“What a game. Today we deserved this win. We played very well today,” he said speaking to ITV. “One of the best games of the season, so I am very happy.
“I forgot the first yellow. I am very disappointed for the red card but the most important thing for me is to win against a big team like Liverpool.
“Everyone came to me saying: ‘congratulations Amad, you deserve this’. I want to thank everyone.”
