Joshua Zirkzee silenced his critics by scoring a brace in Manchester United’s victory over Everton.
Ruben Amorim remains unbeaten as Manchester United head coach and he picked up his first Premier League win with a statement 4-0 win at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee both scored twice to lift United up to ninth in the Premier League table and just four points off the top four.
Amorim made some bold selection decisions with six changes to his United side that beat Bodo/Glimt midweek. Rasmus Hojlund was superb in the Europa League but was dropped to the bench in favour of Zirkzee.
The Dutchman started slowly but grew in confidence after ending his 17-game goal drought.

Why Ruben Amorim was furious at Joshua Zirkzee
Before Sunday, Zirkzee’s only minutes under Amorim came in the 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town when he came off the bench late on.
However, he failed to have the desired impact and Owen Hargreaves spotted that Amorim was frustrated at Zirkzee and his positioning.
That seemed to be an issue for the Portuguese boss again when Zirkzee started up front against Everton.
As pointed out by Samuel Luckhurst, Amorim went “ballistic” at Zirkzee from the sidelines in the first half.
“Amorim way more animated and impatient than in previous two games. Just gone ballistic at Zirkzee for being out of position to press. Casemiro and De Ligt have also copped some grief,” Luckhurst posted.
Joshua Zirkzee responded to Ruben Amorim
There have been question marks over Zirkzee’s future at United after his poor start to the season with links of a return to Serie A.
However, Zirkzee wants to stay and fight at United and he made it clear with his display against Everton that he can thrive in Amorim’s system.

Of course if that is to happen, he will have to listen to Amorim’s instructions and apply it on the pitch.
He did just that against Everton with United’s press improving once Zirkzee led from the front. He has given Amorim a selection headache up front with Arsenal up next in the Premier League.
