Rasmus Hojlund sends reaction to Benjamin Sesko goal for Man Utd vs Sunderland

Only a win against Sunderland would have ensured Ruben Amorim’s safety at Manchester United, and he got exactly what he needed.

While far from remarkable, Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland was impressive in a professional manner, which has been lacking at the club in recent years.

Ruben Amorim’s gamble to start Mason Mount paid off, with the number seven scoring the opener after eight minutes, expertly placing the ball into the corner.

The scoring was continued by Benjamin Sesko, who grabbed his second of the season in an impressive performance that showed his development.

In goal, Senne Lammens had an amazing debut, doing the goalkeeping basics perfectly, which is brilliant to see after the struggles that Altay Bayindir has had this season.

Rasmus Hojlund sends Benjamin Sesko a message

Just five months ago, Manchester United didn’t have strikers capable of scoring a goal, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring just four Premier League goals in 32 games last season.

However, Hojlund is now scoring non-stop for Napoli, while at United, Sesko is beginning to find his feet with goals in back-to-back games.

Sesko looked so confident on Saturday, with his first goal opening the floodgates, we hope.

Now, after his goal, Hojlund has taken to Instagram with a message to Sesko under the Slovenian’s post.

Sesko wrote: “What a feeling! A goal at the Stretford End and three points to go with it. Let’s build on this. Hungry for more!”

In the comments, Hojlund responded, writing: “Congrats my friend”, along with a praise emoji.

This message shows Hojlund’s character, not being bitter that he was sent on loan but still supporting his club and teammates.

Benjamin Sesko is already an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund

While the goals have only started to flow for Benjamin Sesko, it has already become clear that he is a massive upgrade on Hojlund.

Last season, Hojlund’s problems were not just goal-related, as he struggled with the physicality of defenders and his all-around game.

Sesko was excellent against Sunderland, dominating the opposition physically, and his link-up play has also developed leaps and bounds with the confidence he has gotten from scoring.

Next, Sesko needs to continue scoring, and he will very quickly become a success story for Ineos. He’s well on his way already.
