50th minute moment during Man Utd vs Bodo/Glimt proves Ruben Amorim right over 37-touch star

Ruben Amorim is already two games into his Manchester United career and has now picked up win number one.

Rasmus Hojlund was the star of the show for Ruben Amorim on his bow at Old Trafford.

The Danish No.9 scored twice to drag victory from the jaws of defeat at Manchester United came out on top.

United beat Bodo/Glimt 3-2 on the night, with plenty of positives to take, along with several negatives which Amorim will use to his advantage as he learns about his team.

The winner in particular was a brilliant team goal, with patterns of play already being implemented. During the build-up to this goal, one player proved his worth.

Mason Mount shows a glimpse of his talent

One player to have already made an impression on Amorim is Mason Mount.

The £55m Erik ten Hag signing has struggled since moving to United in 2023, but has already made a fan in Amorim.

Speaking last week, Amorim admitted that he ‘loves’ Mount and now we have seen exactly why.

In the build-up to the winner, Noussair Mazraoui played the ball into Mount, before the Englishman back-heeled it in behind to an almost overlapping Manuel Ugarte.

Ugarte got the assist for Hojlund’s goal, but without Mount’s deft touch, it is one which United likely don’t score.

This showcases exactly why Amorim is fond of Mount and seemingly so keen to utilise him at United.

Mount could still be a success for Manchester United

Ever since Amorim’s arrival, Mount has been tipped as a winner and now it is clear to see why after his 37-touch performance.

Mount’s link-up play and technical ability set him apart for United in that No.10 position and he can play neat little passes and even came close to scoring on Thursday – hitting the crossbar.

This performance gave a glimpse into the player United thought was signed when getting Mount.

Since joining United, however, the good performances have been few and far between, much being down to injuries.

However, if Amorim can keep Mount fit, we see his role growing as he will only get better with more minutes.
