Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says Luke Shaw is still not back fit ahead of the visit to West Ham tomorrow.
Solskjaer was asked for an injury update at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game.
It was streamed live on the club’s official app at 1:30pm, 04/12, and while Solskjaer was hopeful on Marcus Rashford, Shaw remains out.
He has been out since the trip to Everton, and Alex Telles has deputised expertly in his absence.
“Marcus has been training this morning, not fully but he joined in with the group,” said Solskjaer.
“His shoulder stopped him finishing the game so he’s been getting treatment and hopefully he’ll be part of the squad that travels, we’ll see after training.
“Luke’s not ready yet, apart from that we had a big squad training again.”
So it’s mixed news for United ahead of the game, although it would’ve been a surprise to see Shaw back in the fold.
Telles’s form has been strong since he’s been given his opportunity, and offers more of a threat from crosses than Shaw.
Jarrod Bowen will likely play on the right hand side for West Ham tomorrow and the former Hull man will provide a tricky test for Telles.
Shaw will continue his recovery and hope to give Solskjaer a headache at left back sooner rather than later.
Brandon Williams also came on at Southampton when Telles limped off late on, so there’s no need for Shaw to rush back.
