Michael Carrick has talked up the effective attacking dynamic of Manchester United trio Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo in the Everton match.

Bryan Mbeumo started the Premier League match leading the Manchester United frontline against Everton, with Matheus Cunha deployed out on the left side.

Benjamin Sesko’s turnaround has been pretty stunning! Should he start the next game?

Bruno Fernandes was in the No 10 role and Amad Diallo was out on the right side of the pitch, while Benjamin Sesko had to settle for a place on the United bench.

However, the Sesko, Cunha and Mbeumo link-up came into play in Man Utd’s 1-0 win over Everton in the second half of Monday’s clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Why Michael Carrick was impressed with Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo in Man Utd’s performance against Everton

Benjamin Sesko came off the bench early in the second half after Amad Diallo was subbed off and the Manchester United striker made a major impact against Everton.

Matheus Cunha played a stunning ball from inside the United half to launch a dangerous counterattack, with the ex-Wolves ace picking out Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbeumo burst into the Everton box and held the ball before squaring it to an onrushing Sesko, who curled a stunning finish into the bottom corner of the net.

“He had to defend [in the] second half, Matheus, and he did it really well,” he said.

“It was some pass over the top [for the goal]. We needed a whole team performance in terms of the pressure Everton put us under, and the boys did it.

“If you do, you get rewards because we’ve got dangerous players.”

Mbeumo, much like fellow summer signing Cunha, was subbed off in the second half of Man Utd’s hard-fought 1-0 Premier League win under interim head coach Carrick.
