Manchester United were disappointingly held to a 1-1 draw against Leeds on Sunday afternoon, making it back-to-back games without a win.

Ruben Amorim was visibly frustrated during his post-game conversations with the press, clearly not happy with how things are going at Manchester United.

This comes after United laboured to a 1-1 draw with Leeds, a game which brought another disappointing performance, with the squad severely weakened.

Who impressed you?

United’s star man was Matheus Cunha, with the Brazilian the only bright spark in a poor team, which has once again failed to take advantage of an easy run.

However, while it was Cunha who starred, his teammate was the unsung hero for his performance against Leeds.

Casemiro has an impressive performance for Manchester United

Cunha was the saviour for United against Leeds, preventing defeat with his well-taken goal, while he also could have had another if it wasn’t harshly ruled out through offside.

But United also had an unsung star in the form of Casemiro.

Casemiro’s display may have gone under the radar due to United’s overall performance not exactly being impressive, but he deserves some praise.

The Brazilian created the most chances of anyone on the pitch, with his actions not being capitalised on.

He was also massively involved with 93 touches and defensively with 16 involvements.

Ruben Amorim expects Bruno Fernandes return for Manchester United

While individually, Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte both had good performances, combined, they form a midfield which has very little creativity or ball security.

This has been part of the issue in recent weeks, with United lacking a player to create from deep and dictate play with passing, but Bruno Fernandes’ return is close.

Speaking after the game, Amorim confirmed he expects Fernandes and Mason Mount to be in the squad against Burnley, which could be massively beneficial.

“I expect minutes from Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes.”

This would be potentially a game winning return for United, as both would bring creativity which has been lacking over the past three games specifically.
