The match official for Manchester United against Liverpool has been revealed.
Erik ten Hag‘s side face Liverpool this weekend, in an encounter that usually ends in one way and one way only.
Manchester United have been utterly abysmal against Liverpool away from Old Trafford. Last season’s fixture was the lowest moment under Ten Hag so far – picked apart 7-0 by Jurgen Klopp’s men.
United will need a lot to go their way, This is something that could easily be swayed by the officials.

Who is the referee for Manchester United vs Liverpool?
The referee for Manchester United vs Liverpool this weekend in the Premier League is Michael Oliver. Here is the full list of match officials taking charge of the clash.
- Referee: Michael Oliver
- Assistants: Stuart Burt, Dan Cook
- Fourth official: Anthony Taylor
- VAR: John Brooks, Simon Long
This will invoke some bad memories – for both sides.
Michael Oliver has made Manchester United and Liverpool unhappy this season
The home side will not be a fan of Oliver, who is returning to be an official in a Liverpool fixture for the first time since his part in the hideous VAR decision to rule out Luis Diaz’s goal against Tottenham.
Three of the six officials in this weekend’s fixture were actually on duty that day in north London. Cook and Long were also present at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
As for Manchester United, their beef with Oliver from this season comes from the very same ground.
Manchester United were unhappy with Oliver after he booked Bruno Fernandes during the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
That booking on Fernandes was one of several poor decisions made by Oliver during the defeat, with the biggest that cost United was the deflected shot by Alejandro Garnacho which struck the arm of Cristian Romero not being given.
Oliver has a huge task in another big fixture. Let’s see how this pans out.
