Lisandro Martinez’s goal was the difference on the day, and thank goodness, Manchester United severely lacked firepower up top.
Rasmus Hojlund wasn’t exactly fantastic, and Joshua Zirkzee didn’t make an impact. Goalscoring is one of Ruben Amorim’s biggest problems.
In recent years, United’s goalscoring worries have usually been quenched by Marcus Rashford, who has been exiled from the Manchester United squad for some time now.
But that hasn’t stopped Rashford from supporting Manchester United during this time.

Marcus Rashford posts to Instagram after Premier League victory
Rashford took to Instagram to send his Manchester United teammates a message after they beat Fulham at Craven Cottage. He wrote: ‘Congratulations on the win lads’.
Similarly, Rashford showed support for his teammates against Rangers, with the star even present at Old Trafford in the Europa League.
Rashford has returned to United first-team training – but there are still heavy rumours that he will leave Old Trafford.
However, with the January window deadline edging closer, it’s looking increasingly more like Rashford may stay. Marcus may not have played his final game at Manchester United after all.

When did Marcus Rashford last play for Manchester United?
The last time Rashford played for Manchester United was on December 12th, 2024, in a Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen. Since then, he has been absent from the squad for 11 consecutive games.
The last time Rashford scored for Manchester United was when he netted a brace against Everton on December 1st. Since then, he hasn’t exactly had the opportunity, has he?
It’s pretty remarkable really, given how long Rashford has been at the club, but it just shows how no one’s spot in the squad is safe under Amorim.
Whether Rashford plays again for Manchester United remains to be seen. Time will tell.
